Study Results
In a Johns Hopkins randomized trial of psilocybin-assisted therapy for major depression, 71% of participants showed a clinically significant response at four weeks and 54% were in remission. NYU (patients with cancer-related distress): roughly 60 to 80% still showed clinically significant reductions in depression or anxiety about six months later. These are the published results of those studies, with those participants, not our results. Research suggests psilocybin may help some people with depression. Results vary and are not guaranteed. Not a substitute for medical care.

From years of depression to a different kind of work
Hi, I'm Ryan Negri. In 2018, I began a life-changing journey with psilocybin that took me from a tech entrepreneur living with depression that had not responded to treatment, to someone who found purpose and a deep sense of personal growth. What began as experimentation with microdosing evolved into deeper explorations that fundamentally changed my relationship with myself and the world.
Over five personal SoulHeal sessions, including one very deep journey, I found personal growth and self-discovery after 8 years of depression that hadn't responded to multiple therapists, medications, or treatments. That experience is not a medical treatment, and it is not a promise of what yours will be. It did reveal my purpose: to help others explore the same path, carefully and with support.
My qualifications and experience
- Personal experience: five SoulHeal sessions of my own, with a deep understanding of both challenging and meaningful experiences.
- Certified Growth Coach, with 2+ years helping founders and investors. This is a coaching credential, not medical training.
- 18+ years as a tech entrepreneur. The companies I founded generated $54M+ in revenue.
- Guided 3 clients through their own SoulHeal sessions.
- Extensive self-education in consciousness exploration and integration, and deep involvement in transformational communities.
- Based in Cabo San Lucas since 2025 specifically for this work.

Why Cabo San Lucas?
Cabo offers a calm environment for inner work: ocean and desert, quiet and space. Psilocybin has a long history of traditional ceremonial use in Mexico. Its legal status is complex; we encourage you to research it and ask us.
My approach
When you choose me as your guide, you're working with someone who has navigated both gentle microdosing and deep journeys. That firsthand experience allows me to:
- Create a container of safety for your exploration
- Help you set clear, meaningful intentions
- Guide you through challenging moments with real compassion
- Support your integration of insights into lasting change
- Recognize the subtle but important nuances of the experience
Every SoulHeal session is designed from years of personal exploration and client experience. From the carefully selected environment to the custom-prepared mushroom broth, from the curated music playlist to the post-session integration support, each element is chosen with care.
What you can expect
A SoulHeal session is not recreational. It is a considered journey. As I learned through my own transformation: "When you find meaning, anything else is meaningless."
During your session, you'll receive:
- A thorough health screening and preparation process. Every journey begins with a health screening. Psilocybin is not right for everyone.
- A dose chosen together, based on your experience and intentions
- A safe, comfortable environment in Cabo San Lucas
- My personal guidance through any challenging moments that arise
- A thoughtful integration session to help translate insights into daily life
- Ongoing support as you integrate what you learned
Individual results vary and are not guaranteed. Some people describe shifts soon after, others need time for integration. What's consistent is a safe, guided experience with someone who understands what it is to live with depression. Not a substitute for medical care.
Is SoulHeal right for you?
SoulHeal is designed for people who are:
- Living with depression that hasn't responded to traditional approaches
- Ready to explore a guided, natural approach to personal growth
- Open to exploring consciousness in a guided, intentional setting
- Committed to integrating their experience into lasting life changes
- Approaching guided psilocybin sessions with respect
- Financially able to invest $1,500+ in their journey
If you are currently experiencing suicidal thoughts, your immediate safety comes first, with medical care. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number (911 in the US, Canada and Mexico). In the US or Canada, call or text 988. In Mexico, call Linea de la Vida on 800 911 2000. We can talk about timing with your mental health team once you are safe.
My own journey
My own path began like many of yours: years of treatments that didn't work, multiple therapists, antidepressants that didn't help, and a growing sense of hopelessness. Through guided psilocybin sessions I found:
- Personal growth and self-discovery after 8 years of depression. Not a medical treatment.
- A profound connection with something larger than myself
- Clarity about my purpose in helping others
- The ability to let go of control and trust the process
- A supportive community of others on similar journeys
"In just two years, I have become a happier and healthier version of myself than I ever thought was possible. I have found profound meaning in my life."
Session locations
Now based in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, I've established SoulHeal session locations chosen for safety, comfort and calm. Each location, whether oceanfront, a quiet indoor setting, or a natural environment, is chosen for how well it supports you. As your guide, I'll help you select the setting for your journey, whether that's the rhythm of ocean waves, the controlled comfort of a private space, or the grounding presence of natural beauty.
Safety and risk
Your safety is my absolute priority. I've studied and practiced grounding techniques, breathwork and emotional support for challenging experiences. Psilocybin is not right for everyone. Every journey begins with a health screening, and I maintain emergency protocols for every session. Potential risks include temporary anxiety, emotional intensity, or difficult memories surfacing. With support, these moments can become meaningful parts of the experience.
My commitment to you
- Being fully present and attentive throughout your entire journey
- Creating a judgment-free space for whatever emotions or insights arise
- Honoring your unique process and timeline
- Prioritizing your safety and well-being above all else
- Sharing experiences from my own journey when helpful
- Supporting your integration with patience

Frequently asked questions
Your Questions, Answered
Every journey begins with a health screening. Psilocybin is not right for everyone.
The sessions
What exactly is a SoulHeal session?
A guided psilocybin session for people living with depression, PTSD or trauma. I've crafted the experience to combine careful guidance, a safe environment and thoughtful preparation and integration. Research suggests psilocybin may help some people with depression. Results vary and are not guaranteed. Not a substitute for medical care.
Will a shaman be part of my session?
A professional shaman will be joining SoulHeal soon. They are a separate practitioner, not me. Until they join, I guide every session personally. Ask about it in your free consultation and I will let you know when sessions with our shaman open.
Who guides the sessions?
I personally guide each session, drawing on years of personal and guiding experience with psilocybin. I focus on creating a safe, supportive environment and stay with you for the entire experience.
What does the $1,500 base package include?
The starting cost covers a health screening and preparation consultation, one guided psilocybin session, one overnight stay at our retreat location, and basic integration guidance. Flights, airport transfers, meals, and extended stays are optional extras.
How long does a session last?
A typical session is a one-day experience. The psilocybin effects generally last 4 to 8 hours (typically 11am to 7pm), but you should set aside a full day for preparation, the session itself, and our integration discussion afterwards.
Can I choose where my session takes place?
Yes. You can choose from several session locations in Cabo San Lucas. Each offers a unique, safe environment based on your comfort and preferences. The right setting creates a foundation of safety and tranquility.
What dose will I receive?
A dose chosen together, based on your experience and intentions. First-time participants usually start lower. We'll discuss it during your consultation.
What if nothing happens?
We choose the dose together based on your experience and intentions so that the session is meaningful for you. If you're concerned about tolerance from medications, we address this during the health screening.
Can I do this if I've never used psychedelics before?
Absolutely. Sessions welcome both experienced users and first-timers. I'll tailor the experience to your familiarity level and make sure you're well prepared and supported throughout.
Safety and health
What safety protocols do you have in place?
Your safety is my priority. I provide a secure, controlled environment and maintain emergency contact protocols. I'm experienced in guiding challenging experiences and have clear procedures for situations that may arise during sessions. Every journey begins with a health screening. Psilocybin is not right for everyone.
What conditions disqualify someone?
For your safety, we exclude those with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, uncontrolled hypertension or heart conditions, and pregnancy. Current use of SSRIs or other interacting medications is discussed during screening. Any change to medication must be made only with your prescribing doctor. A full health screening is mandatory.
Can I do this if I'm on antidepressants or other medications?
Some medications interact with psilocybin, so it's crucial to disclose everything you're taking during our screening. Any change to medication must be made only with your prescribing doctor. We may recommend consulting your healthcare provider before moving forward.
Will this interfere with my current therapy?
Many clients continue their regular therapy while doing sessions. Please tell your providers what you're planning. With your permission, we're glad to coordinate with your existing healthcare team. Any change to medication must be made only with your prescribing doctor.
What happens if I have a difficult experience during the session?
I've studied and practiced grounding techniques, breathwork and emotional support for challenging moments. I stay with you throughout the entire session to support your safety and comfort.
What if I have a panic attack during my session?
I've studied grounding techniques specifically for challenging psilocybin experiences, and I stay with you throughout the entire session to help you through panic, anxiety, or overwhelming moments. With support, these moments can become meaningful parts of the experience.
How do you handle medical emergencies?
While true medical emergencies are rare with properly screened participants, I maintain emergency protocols for all sessions and have established procedures for contacting local emergency services if needed. Optional medical support can be arranged on request.
What if I'm severely depressed or suicidal?
If you're currently experiencing suicidal thoughts, your immediate safety comes first, with medical care. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number (911 in the US, Canada and Mexico). In the US or Canada, call or text 988. In Mexico, call Linea de la Vida on 800 911 2000. Once you are in a safer place, we can talk with your mental health team about whether and when a session might be appropriate.
Research and results
What does research say about psilocybin and depression?
In a Johns Hopkins randomized trial for major depression, 71% of participants showed a clinically significant response at four weeks and 54% were in remission. NYU (patients with cancer-related distress): roughly 60 to 80% still showed clinically significant reductions in depression or anxiety about six months later. These are published study results, not our results. Research suggests psilocybin may help some people with depression. Results vary and are not guaranteed. Not a substitute for medical care.
What scientific evidence informs your approach?
I follow published research closely, including Johns Hopkins research on psilocybin, clinical trials on psychedelic-assisted therapy coordinated by MAPS, and studies from Mexico's UNAM on traditional mushroom use. These are the researchers' results, not ours.
How long will it take to notice changes?
It varies. Some people describe shifts soon after, while for others changes unfold over weeks or months. Many notice changes in mood, sleep, and outlook within days. Give yourself time to process your experience. There's no right timeline, and results are not guaranteed.
Is there follow-up support after the session?
Absolutely. Post-session integration is a crucial part of the experience. We'll discuss your insights, experiences, and what emerged, which helps translate your session into meaningful, lasting change. Additional follow-up sessions are available if you want more integration support.
How do you handle integration after the retreat?
Beyond the initial guidance, we offer optional add-ons including 3x Zoom integration sessions ($250), a 30-day integration workbook ($49), and a private community forum (free).
What if I can't integrate my experience into real life changes?
Initial integration guidance is included in your session, and I provide basic support to help translate insights into daily life. Many clients find integration is where the real change happens. I offer additional integration sessions for an extra fee if you want more ongoing support.
Legal, cost and logistics
Is psilocybin legal in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico?
Psilocybin has a long history of traditional ceremonial use in Mexico. Its legal status is complex; we encourage you to research it and ask us. Our sessions are carefully screened sessions in Cabo San Lucas. Please review the legal status in your own situation.
Do you offer payment plans?
No, not yet. But you can use payment methods that offer financing, such as Affirm, Klarna, and PayPal.
Is this covered by insurance?
Currently, insurance doesn't cover psilocybin sessions, since psilocybin is not FDA-approved. We can discuss payment options during your consultation.
How does the cost compare to other programs?
SoulHeal sessions start at $1,500, which is approximately one-third the cost of comparable programs in the Netherlands or Oregon.
How quickly can I schedule a session?
Availability is typically within 2 to 4 weeks, compared to waitlists of 6 months or more at some established programs. I currently accept a limited number of new clients per month to ensure personal attention.
Why Cabo San Lucas?
Cabo offers direct flights from 28+ U.S. cities, a well-served tourist corridor, and a calm environment of ocean and desert that supports inner work. Psilocybin has a long history of traditional ceremonial use in Mexico. Its legal status is complex; we encourage you to research it and ask us.
Do I need to arrange my own travel to Cabo?
The session includes one night of accommodation. Flights, airport transfers, meals, and extended stays are optional extras.
How do I schedule an initial consultation?
Use the form on this page, book a free call, or email me if you have my contact details. Our initial consultation is where we'll discuss your history and goals, address any concerns, and decide together whether a session is right for you.
On the day
How should I prepare for my session?
Preparation involves both mental and physical readiness. You'll reflect on your intentions, complete a health history form, and follow specific dietary recommendations. Keep your schedule calm, avoid alcohol and other substances for at least 24 hours before, and make sure you're well rested and hydrated.
What about transportation to and from the session?
Arrange to be dropped off and picked up. Driving after the session isn't safe due to psilocybin's effects. Have your transportation planned beforehand for both safety and peace of mind.
Can I leave immediately after my session?
I strongly advise against driving or leaving on your own right after your session. For hotel sessions, I encourage staying overnight to allow for a gradual, comfortable transition back to your routine the next day.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
Absolutely. Just let me know about any dietary needs in advance, and I'll make sure your post-session meal works for you.
Can someone accompany me during my session?
Sessions are typically individual experiences, but if having someone nearby would make you more comfortable, we can arrange for a trusted friend or family member to be present at the location (though not participating directly in your session).
What should I wear?
Comfort is key. Wear comfortable, warm clothes, since your body tends to cool down during the psilocybin experience.
